Empowering Futures
About The Scholarship
At the Del Valle Community Coalition, we believe that investing in youth is the most powerful strategy for breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Our Empowering Futures Scholarships exist to remove financial barriers and elevate young leaders who are actively strengthening the social fabric of Del Valle.
88% of Del Valle ISD students live at or below the poverty line. These students navigate systemic challenges daily, yet many demonstrate extraordinary resilience through community engagement and academic achievement.
We seek high school seniors, GED recipients, or graduates from Del Valle Independent School District who are pursuing postsecondary education at a four-year university or accredited skilled trades program.
This is not a one-time award. Recipients may reapply annually for up to four years of support throughout their postsecondary journey.

Application essay
"When I received this scholarship I felt like a weight fell off my shoulders. This scholarship allowed me to attend college and even have a dorm to stay at. But this was not done alone, this was done with the help of this scholarship and its support. Getting me to places I would have never imagined."
