Empowering Futures:

DVCC Scholarship Awards

Del Valle Community Coalition provides financial assistance to high school seniors who live in the Del Valle area and are interested in attending college or university in any state.

Eligibility:

  • This program extends its eligibility to graduating seniors from any high school within the Del Valle Independent School District.

  • Applicants are required to provide an acceptance letter from a recognized college or university.

  • A minimum high school GPA of 2.0 is mandatory.

  • Additionally, applicants are expected to demonstrate involvement in two or more student organizations/clubs.

Additional considerations:

  • Financial need may be taken into account.

  • Community involvement: Priority will be accorded to candidates who exhibit active engagement in community service or extracurricular pursuits.

  • Leadership potential: Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated leadership qualities and exhibit promise for future success.

Application Process:​

  • Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, encompassing personal information, academic accomplishments, extracurricular engagements, and community contributions.

  • An official transcript of grades must accompany the application.

  • Additionally, candidates must compose a personal essay addressing one of the following prompts:

  1. Reflect on how your experiences within Del Valle have influenced your personal growth and development.

  2. Detail your advocacy efforts on behalf of your peers within the school community.

Important Information:

  • In 2024, scholarships will be awarded for the first time to high school students from diverse social, economic, and educational backgrounds, recognizing their academic achievements, community involvement, and potential for future success.

  • Scholarship Distribution:

    • Three scholarships will be awarded, and all eligible applicants are encouraged to apply. The available scholarships are as follows:

      • One scholarship of $2500

      • Two scholarships of $500 each

  • The top candidate demonstrating exceptional academic achievement, outstanding community involvement, and leadership potential will receive the $2500 scholarship. Runners-up who also exhibit strong academic performance and significant community engagement will each receive a $500 scholarship.

  • Deadline:

    • The deadline for scholarship applications is May 20th, 2024.

    • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Notification:

    • Successful applicants will receive notification via email or mail within two weeks after the application deadline.

    • Scholarship recipients may need to provide additional documentation or information for verification purposes.

  • Disbursement of Funds:

    • Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the educational institution or utilized for educational expenses as specified by the recipient.

    • Recipients must furnish proof of enrollment or registration before funds are released.
