Scholarship Awards

Del Valle Community Coalition provides financial assistance to high school seniors who are attending DVISD are interested in attending college or university in any state or enrolled college students who have previously graduated from DVISD.

Eligibility:

For Graduating High School Seniors:

  • Must be a graduating senior from any high school within the Del Valle Independent School District (DVISD).

  • Must provide an acceptance letter from a recognized college or university.

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 with high school transcript.

  • Must demonstrate involvement in two or more student organizations/clubs/sports teams.

For Current College Students:

  • Must be a previous graduate of Del Valle High School.

  • Must provide a college transcript and proof of enrollment (such as a class schedule for the upcoming semester).

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

  • Must demonstrate involvement in two or more student organizations/clubs/sports teams.

Additional Considerations:

  • Community Involvement: Priority will be given to applicants who actively participate in community service or extracurricular activities.

  • Leadership Potential: Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated leadership skills and show promise for future success.

  • Financial Need: Financial circumstances may be taken into account during the selection process.

Application Process:​

  • Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, encompassing personal information, academic accomplishments, extracurricular engagements, and community contributions.

  • An official transcript of grades must accompany the application.

  • Additionally, candidates must compose a personal essay addressing one of the following prompts:

​

  1. Share a story about a challenge your community has faced. How have you or others worked to address it?

  2. What changes would you like to see in your Del Valle neighborhood, and how can you contribute to making them happen?

  3. Write about a community leader or role model who has inspired you. How has their work influenced your own goals?

  4. Imagine you had unlimited resources to create a program for Del Valle. What would it be, and how would it help the community?

Important Information:

  • In 2025, scholarships will be awarded for the second time to high school seniors & continuing education students from diverse social, economic, and educational backgrounds, recognizing their academic achievements, community involvement, and potential for future success.

  • Scholarship Distribution:

    • All eligible applicants are encouraged to apply.

    • A total of $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants. Recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership potential.

High School Senior Scholarships
Community Leadership Scholarship – $3,000 - Awarded to a current DVISD high school senior who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in school, community service, or advocacy efforts. Must show a strong commitment to creating a positive impact in the Del Valle community.

Future Scholars Award – $2,000 - Awarded to a current DVISD high school senior who has displayed academic dedication and resilience in overcoming challenges. Supports students pursuing higher education.


Academic Achievement Award – $1,000 - Recognizes a current DVISD high school senior with exceptional academic performance and dedication to further education. Supports students attending college.

College Student Scholarships

Hometown Impact Scholarship – $2,000 - Awarded to a past DVISD graduate enrolled in college who has actively contributed to the Del Valle community through service, mentorship, or leadership. Encourages recipients to continue making a difference locally or in their career field.

Continuing Success Award – $1,000 - Awarded to a past DVISD graduate in college who has demonstrated academic excellence and perseverance. Supports their continued success in their degree program.

​

Community Resilience Award – $1,000 - Recognizes a past DVISD graduate in college who has overcome significant personal or financial challenges while pursuing their degree. Assists in their continued education.

  • Deadline:

    • The deadline for scholarship applications is May 20th, 2025.

    • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Notification:

    • Successful applicants will receive notification via email or mail within two weeks after the application deadline.

    • Scholarship recipients may need to provide additional documentation or information for verification purposes.

  • Disbursement of Funds:

    • Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the educational institution or utilized for educational expenses as specified by the recipient.

    • Recipients must furnish proof of enrollment or registration before funds are released.
