DVCC BOARD MEMBERS
All board members of the DVCC are volunteers who dedicate their free time to advocating, serving, and mobilizing the Del Valle community.

HONORABLE SUSANNA LEDESMA WOODY
President
Susanna is one of the original members of the Del Valle Community Coalition and is currently serving as the President. As President of the Del Valle Community Coalition, her goal is to close the disparity gaps in Travis County and is committed to making sure the community is provided access to resources that improve their quality of life. In addition to being the president of the Del Valle Coalition, she is an elected DVISD school board trustee, being involved in her community and the school district her children go to is very important to her. She is a wife, working mother of three and native Central Texan. She balances a successful career in project management, with family time and community service.
HONORABLE MATT WORTHINGTON
Vice President I
Matt Worthington serves DVCC as Vice President I. As Vice President of the coalition, Matt’s goal is to ensure that everyone who calls Del Valle home has access to meaningful opportunity and healthy lives. As a former public school teacher and non-profit professional, Matt’s volunteer work in Del Valle is informed by over a decade of working on behalf of the public good. Having grown up in poverty and fatherless, my work often explores the intersections of poverty, public health, public education, and generally making society more equitable for people who have been pushed to the margins of society.
Matt calls Del Valle home with his wife, Jess, who is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Austin Area and their three kids Amelia, Manu, and Giselle. In his free time, you can find Matt trying to catch some Spurs games in San Antonio or telling people about Spurs History.
Currently, he works as the Senior Project Manager for Data Initiatives at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and serves as a commission member for the City of Austin’s Early Childhood Council, representing District 2.


PATRICIA KING
Vice President II
Patricia King is an original member of the Del Valle Community Coalition and currently serving as Vice President II. She has lobbied for years for transportation, food access and emergency services in Del Valle. She has and continues to work with sector neighborhoods for development and infrastructure in the far Southeast area of Travis County. Her goals are to obtain access to grocery stores, restaurants, and recreational facilities in Del Valle. Mrs. King loves to visit her grandchildren and watch scary movies.
Laura Turner
Secretary
Laura Turner is currently serving as the Secretary of the Del Valle Community Coalition.
Although Laura is new to the Del Valle Community Coalition, she has been a part of the Del Valle community for most of her life and graduated from Del Valle High School. She is passionate about volunteering in her community and encouraging younger generations to be involved as well. After earning her Master’s Degree in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and obtaining her CPA license, she began her career in public accounting where she now has 15 years of experience. She is a wife, a mother of 3, and has a full time career in addition to volunteering in the communities that she lives and works in.


Misty Kelly
Treasurer
Misty Kelly is currently serving as Treasure for Del Valle Community Coalition. Misty's experience in education, public speaking, problem solving and knowledge of the real estate market are skills she will implement as a member of the Del Valle Community Coalition.
With a background in education, she taught mathematics to the students of the Del Valle Independent School District. She educated students with the purpose of helping students to find their best selves. She has been a part of the Del Valle Community for 14 years.
Currently, she is a professional realtor in the greater Austin area, skilled in educating and providing real estate services to the community.

Claudia Zapata
Project Manager
Claudia Zapata has joined the Del Valle Community Coalition serving as our Project Manager. She has over 10 years of experience in community organizing, activism, and policy development. Most recently, Claudia ran for U.S. House of Representatives where she heavily focused on issues impacting communities like Del Valle: food accessibility, health care equity, affordable housing & anti-displacement policy, and environmental justice.
She has a Bachelors in Philosophy and Government from the University of Texas at Austin. Claudia spends her free time with her family and serving as her sister’s pageant manager.

Juan Rodriguez Mora
Administrative Assistant
Juan is the first administrative assistant for the Del Valle Community Coalition. He grew up in Del Valle and graduated from Del Valle High School in 2014. He is fluent in Spanish and English. He wants to use his bilingual skills to reach out to more of the community and help DVCC achieve its mission of more access to food and health care in the Del Valle community. He is married to his wife of 7 5 years and recently became a father of one. He loves spending time at home relaxing with his wife, his daughter and their 3 dogs as well playing video games.
