Lace Up and Dash into the 2nd Annual Del Valle Turkey Trot!
We’re “running” on excitement to invite you to our 2nd Annual Del Valle Turkey Trot! Whether you’re a seasoned sprinter, looking to get out and get active or just here to support your friends, this community event has something for everyone. We’ll be dashing through the Del Valle High School campus, with different activities that will keep your whole flock moving.
We’re thrilled to be using the high school for the second year in a row—big thanks to the school and their staff, who always “go the extra mile” for our community. To show our appreciation, all DVISD staff can register with a 45% discount!
So don’t “trot” alone—bring your family, friends, and even your “running mates” to this fun-filled event. Whether you’re here to “run like the wind” or "the WINDED", we promise a day full of laughs and high-fives!

EVENT DETAILS:
Get ready for an action-packed day at the 2nd Annual Del Valle Turkey Trot! This year, we’re excited to expand our lineup with even more activities for the whole family. In addition to our original family-friendly 1-mile walk/trot on the stadium track, we’re introducing two new events:

5K Hybrid Trail: Enjoy a scenic 3.1-mile course around the high school. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or just want to experience something new, choose between timed and untimed race entries to suit your style.

100M Kids Dash: Little ones can get in on the action too! We’ve added a 100M dash for kids ages 5-13, with three race categories to ensure a fun and fair competition for all.

Check-In: Begins at 7:00 A.M.

5K Start Time: 8:00 A.M. (waves every 2 minutes)

100M Dash Start Time: 8:45 A.M. (Age groups 5-7 years, 8-10 years, 11-13 years)

Fun Run Start Time: 9:15 A.M. (two waves, 30 seconds apart)
Your registration includes race entry, a Turkey Trot t-shirt, goodies from our sponsors, and access to a post-race festival featuring food vendors and snacks.

Why participate?
At the heart of our mission is the belief that a strong, vibrant community begins with opportunities to connect, get active, and give back. In 2023, we launched our inaugural Turkey Trot, and it was nothing short of incredible! Over 50 of our neighbors laced up their shoes and hit the DVHS stadium track, bringing energy, laughter, and a spirit of togetherness to the event. It was more than just a run; it was a celebration of community spirit.
But the Turkey Trot was only the beginning. Alongside the run, we had over 20 dedicated volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to package and distribute bags of fresh produce and turkeys to families in need. Thanks to their hard work and the generosity of our supporters, we were able to assist over 350 families, ensuring that they had food on their tables during the holidays. Together, we raised over $9,000, all of which went directly toward helping families in our community.
Turkey Kits
One of our major goals is to provide Turkey Kits to 400 families this year which will include a turkey or ham, canned goods, and a pie. This is over 50 more than last year with more items!
Attendees
Have over 250 Turkey Trot attendees! Whether you're running the 5K or cheering your kid on in the 100M dash all are welcomed!
Causes
Raise over $50,000 for our winter initiatives. In addition to our turkey trot we are raising funds for our winter toy and gear drive for families and unhoused friends in the area.
